About Peyton
I am a student at UC Berkeley double majoring in Genetics & Plant Biology and Legal Studies. I tutored math and literature in high school, and absolutely loved it. Tutoring not only allows me to help others feel confident about difficult subjects but it also allows me to solidify my own knowledge.
I know high school can be very difficult, in more ways than one, so I want to provide an easygoing service that helps students prepare for life after high school whether that be college, vocational school, or entering the workforce. It's important to feel comfortable in academics and I know I can provide a service which strengthens every aspect of a student's mind. Beyond providing my students with the know-how to write stronger essays and solve problems, I also hope to impart valuable studying habits to set them up for success in life!

I emphasize being calm and patient. I want to learn how you learn, and tailor the lesson to your style. I don't just want to teach how to solve one specific problem but how to approach any problem in that field. I value conversation and understanding over memorization and I hope to have an open dialogue about what you want from our sessions.
A typical lesson changes depending on the subject, but will usually begin with a discussion of goals and issues, then a walk through of how to approach the problem or essay, examples, practice problems, and questions throughout.
Specifically, I can tutor in math up to calculus level (geometry, trig, basic arithmetic), physics, chemistry, biology, essay writing/reviewing, and test prep for International Baccalaureate (Specifically HL Lang&Lit, History of Americas, Physics, and Biology; SL Mathematics)
