About Des

As a Teacher Assistant at Central Bucks School District, I have gained valuable experience supporting middle school students with diverse needs, reinforcing lessons, and providing one-on-one or small group assistance. Additionally, my role as a Floater Teacher at Chesterbrook Academy has helped me develop flexibility and adaptability in addressing different learning styles and environments. I am confident in tutoring several classes across multiple subjects based on my education background, work experience, and personal strengths. Below is a breakdown of the specific classes and standardized tests I feel most comfortable tutoring: Math Elementary Math: Basic arithmetic, fractions, decimals, percentages, and foundational problem-solving strategies. Middle School Math: Pre-Algebra, Basic Geometry, Ratios, Proportions, and Introductory Algebra concepts. High School Math: Algebra 1 (linear equations, inequalities, and quadratic functions). English/Language Arts Elementary and Middle School English: Reading comprehension, vocabulary development, grammar, sentence structure, and writing fundamentals. High School English: Literary analysis, essay writing, research papers, and creative writing. Test Prep for English: SAT Reading and Writing, ACT English, and essay-writing skills for standardized tests. Science Elementary Science: Basic life sciences, earth sciences, and scientific inquiry. Middle School Science: General science, introduction to biology, and physical science fundamentals. Social Studies Elementary and Middle School Social Studies: American history, geography, and basic civics. Standardized Tests I am well-prepared to assist students with test preparation strategies, practice questions, and time management for: SAT (Reading/Writing and foundational Math sections) ACT (English, Reading, and Science sections) PSSA (English and Math for Pennsylvania students) Additional Support As a current Education major at Millersville University with experience supporting diverse learners, I can also work with students needing help with executive functioning skills, organization, and study strategies tailored to their classes.
