About the lesson
I base it on the individual. I like to be creative by using a combination of methods for each class. I believe in fun brain breaks which stimulates the learner even while having a short break by using body percussion techniques.

She is really passionate and nice and also a great teacher
Mariena is an amazing teacher. She takes the time to learn about each child and then works with them in a way that they understand. Even more impressively, she retains the fun. Both my kids adore her.
Mariena is an excellent teacher, very experienced and knowledgeable also keeps lessons effective, engaging and fun. She taught my son and he has just blossomed. He is autistic, was non-verbal and now can't stop talking. You will never go wrong in having Mariena as a tutor.

She is wonderful with with special needs children. Se was a tutor for my sons with autism. She is a reliable and compassionate teacher that goes the extra mile for the children. She has an amazing heart and patience with students and always goes out of her way to find ways to help them learn and understand better.... I know her in person. My two children are both diagnosed with autism. She was not only helpful with my children but also with other students and parents.
She goes beyond what is expected of her to understand your kid and teaches them at their pace. She will meet your kid at the point where they at and they flourish. Best tutor my daughter ever had.
Mariena is a trustworthy tutor and person overall, she is always happy to help and will go out of her way to assist anyone, she is so focused to help people achieve their goals by assisting them to become beter in their challenging needs. 01
When did you first develop a passion for music and your favourite instrument?
I've loved music from a very young age. Since I can remember I've been on stage either singing or playing an instrument. I do not have a specific favourite instrument. The ones I do play all have a unique sound and value to me.
02
Is there a particular type of music or an artist that you could happily listen to on a loop?
On a loop - There are some days/weeks that I listen to Folk music on a loop, other days/weeks classical or Gospel.
03
Explain to us the most difficult or 'riveting' lesson you could personally give to one of your students.
I do not believe in chasing the most difficult lesson. I rather believe that with enough effort and time put into the wanted outcome, anything that seems difficult can be overcome.
04
What do you think is the most complicated instrument to master and why?
At the moment, I think is the banjo. I struggle with my fingers to work my way across the bars. The piano and piano accordion are quite easy. I love my guitar and ukulele too.
05
What are your keys to success (aside from do re mi fa sol ...)?
PASSION for music and language and a LOVE for teaching.
06
Name three musicians you dream of meeting on a night out, and explain why.
Jason Mraz, because FOLK king much!! Definitely would have loved to have met Bach. But that won't happen in this lifetime. A third would definitely be Mumford and sons as a band just because they are absolutely aaaaaamazing! True sounds.

Provide a valuable anecdote related to music or your days at music school.
Well, in class I was always a dreamer so not much to say there. I was in an ensemble for young adults at the age of 12. We played at a castle once for some fancy function and at a Flemish wedding. Will NEVER forget that. Another AWESOME memory was when I did not know that I was talking to the main singer of the Parlatones when I told him that he played chopsticks wrong during a soundcheck. Got onto the stage, showed him how and bowed to the imaginary crowd. Only to find out after it happened that I told him that I could do it better. (He did not have the black teardrop on his face - how was I supposed to know?)

What are the little touches that make you a Superprof in music?
Love and feeling for music, personal relationship building with students, patience. A lot of patience. I believe I also have an ear for music.
