About Tony
I have worked as an English/Spanish teacher for 15 years delivering elementary, intermediate, and advanced lessons to children, teens, and adults focused on grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. I started my teaching career at primary and secondary schools and then progressed to higher education at language institutes and universities. I make use of different techniques to develop my students' linguistic skills. They have always appreciated the language tips, cultural notes on historical facts, and good sense of humour in my lessons.
I'm also a musician. I have been part of two early music ensembles: The Broken Consort, specialised in 16th-18th century repertoire, playing the descant/tenor recorders and the renaissance/baroque flutes since 2003 as well as Messa di Voce, recorder consort (SATB) founded in 2014, focused on the interpretation of renaissance and baroque along with contemporary vocal-instrumental music seeking to educate audiences on the possibilities of the recorder as a concert instrument. I have also recently joined the Edinburgh branch of the Society of Recorder Players.

My lessons are divided into three different stages: a lead-in where I introduce the topic, a while-stage where students get exposure to the language, and a post-stage where learners are able to put into practice what they learnt during the lesson.
