About Fernando Augusto

I am a Pharmacist, PhD student in Medical Sciences at UnB and I started working as an English Teacher over 10 years ago. Over this time, I have developed different teaching approaches, according to the student's level of mastery and goal. I work with students from basic to advanced level, including at the level of academic and technical writing.

About the lesson

Generally speaking, I try to use in my classes the context in which the student finds himself as the basis for shaping the classes and activities in order to facilitate the assimilation of the content. For example, it is much easier for a person to learn another language when studying it in the context of his hobbies and future planning than when working on unattractive or irrelevant topics for his life. In addition, I seek to use different active methodologies, memory stimulation (mnemotechnique) and neurolinguistic programming techniques (approach that allows working more efficiently the neurological mechanisms related to the comprehension and assimilation of languages). Lessons in this way tend to be more easily assimilated and personalized, which tends to enrich and streamline the learning process.
