About Nicolas Ariel

I have a degree in Biology (Zoology Orientation) from the FCNyM-UNLP. I started my teaching career in 2008. I carried out teaching tasks for both 3-year-olds and adults over 30, not only in the classroom but also in the field. Currently, I am an adjunct ad honorem assistant in Zoology III at the same faculty. Also, I am doing a doctorate in Cs. Natural and I am finishing the career of Specialist in University Teaching. Work in herpetofauna (amphibians and reptiles) mainly oriented to conservation. I also have extensive experience (7 years) in anatomy and morphometry, particularly in Antarctic birds, I have even been working at Base Esperanza (Argentine Antarctica) for 5 months, within the framework of the Argentine Antarctic Program. I have good language skills in English (C1) and German (B1). I also understand Italian (A2), French (A1), some Mandarin Chinese (HSK 1) and some Hungarian.

About the lesson

For me, students are people. Everyone turns their joys and sorrows, their challenges and comforts and their fears and assurances in the study. I think it is extremely important to listen and understand each student in order to provide them with a suitable treatment and accompany them in their learning. Many times the error is not in the student but in how the teacher does not adapt to it. My main focus is to strengthen the critical mindset and personal development of my students. It seems to me more important to teach to solve problems and to build and relate knowledge than to teach to repeat from memory until we can reproduce what the teacher wants the student to repeat. Regarding the methodology / timetable, I consider that it is necessary to adapt it to the personal situation of each student. My goal is not only for the student to pass their subjects, but to gain an understanding of them and to understand what role they play in their training, in addition to providing useful tools that are not exclusive to the subject in question.
