About Jeremy

I am a self-taught artist and illustrator who loves to sketch and explore the different ways I can make images. I have always concentrated on the drawing fundamentals (described below), and I believe that deep knowledge of these principles allows an artist to create whatever they want! About the lesson

My lessons are personalized to the student's style and goals. I focus on the drawing fundamentals, which all interrelate to make believable images. Fundamentals include:

Line - having strong and confident linework, instead of broken or scratchy lines;
Perspective - making objects appear three-dimensional on the page;
Form - making objects look realistic and proportional;
Composition - arranging elements of a drawing so they are interesting and pleasing;
Color - understanding how colors relate to each other, ways to choose them and how to mix them.

In a typical lesson we can go over a recent image you've made and look at ways in which you might improve. Or we can focus on a new image you want to make and think about ways to approach it.

I can also direct you to a large number of resources and exercises to help cement the ideas you are learning!

I tend to work in ink, alcohol markers, and watercolor, but the fundamentals apply across mediums! I also have experience working in digital art, for example.
