About Mercedes
As a Learning Experience Designer with a degree in Art Therapy and years of creative teaching experience, I bring a warm, supportive, and highly personalized approach to every lesson. I’ve taught learners of all ages across 40+ countries, and I specialize in making complex ideas feel clear, engaging, and accessible. My goal is to help each student build confidence, strengthen their critical thinking, and genuinely enjoy discovering the stories behind art, history, psychology, and culture. I’m patient, encouraging, and deeply committed to meeting students exactly where they are so they can grow with ease and curiosity.

My teaching approach blends structure, curiosity, and creativity. With a background in art therapy and a deep passion for Art History, Psychology, Mythology, and Sociology, I help students understand not just what art is — but why it matters. I believe lessons should feel like a conversation, not a lecture, and I tailor each session to the student’s level, goals, and learning style.
A typical lesson includes a guided discussion of artworks or themes, clear historical context, and personalized activities such as visual analysis, compare-and-contrast exercises, and creative reflection. Whether we’re exploring Renaissance symbolism, modern movements, or the psychology behind human creativity, I make sure students walk away with clarity and confidence.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to connect art history to everyday life. I combine academic knowledge with real-world examples and therapeutic insight, making complex concepts feel accessible and engaging.
My lessons are ideal for middle school, high school, college students, adult learners, and anyone who simply loves art and wants to deepen their understanding in a supportive, encouraging environment.
