About Jessica

Hi! My name is Dr. Singer and I’m an art tutor with a Doctorate in Art Education and 6 years of teaching experience, and I genuinely love helping students grow creatively. I teach because I’ve seen how powerful art can be—not just for improving skills, but for building confidence and finding your own voice. You don’t need to be “naturally talented” to be good at art; you just need the right guidance, practice, and encouragement. My lessons are relaxed, supportive, and hands-on. Whether you’re just starting out, feeling stuck, or working towards a portfolio, I’ll help you improve your skills, try new ideas, and enjoy the process of making art. Let’s create, experiment, and build confidence together

About the lesson

I offer personalised art lessons that help students build strong technical skills and creative confidence in a supportive environment. Lessons include drawing, painting (watercolour and acrylic), colour theory, composition, and mixed media. Each hour session combines clear demonstrations, guided practice, and creative exploration, encouraging good artistic habits such as observation, experimentation, and reflection. Ages: 6+ | Levels: Beginner to advanced Qualifications: Doctorate of Education (Art Education), University of Aberdeen Experience: 6 years as an art tutor

Jessica was really helpful with my Nat 5 Art. She helped me with my research and composition drawings and gave me ideas on how to make my work better. I felt a lot more confident with my work after the sessions and would definitely recommend her!
