About Alvin
Hello there! My name is Alvin Fong with Canvas Tutoring.
I have 4 years' tutoring experience. I graduated from the University of Waterloo (Computer Engineering), and I worked as a software programmer and manager over the past 12 years.
One of my proudest achievements is helping an immigrant to Canada start a second career, helping her navigate the high school system, especially the STEM courses. This year (2023) she started Actuary Science at the University of Toronto, St. George campus.

I focus on teaching based on individuals' learning styles - everyone learns differently, and perhaps the reason you're struggling with a class- is that you're being taught the wrong way! Whether you're a visual, auditory, reading-writing, or kinesthetic learner, I can help you rediscover the joy of learning and SUCCEEDING in your classes.
My rate is $30 per hour including HST; at your home, local library, or at my office beside Finch TTC.
I offer a $10 introduction class, where I meet the student and explore what the student’s preferred learning style is, and for parents and students to evaluate our compatibility.
