About Isabella

Hi! I'm Isabella, an undergraduate student at the University of Manchester, with a passion for Sociology and helping other students achieve their academic goals.

I recently completed my A-Levels, achieving A*AA overall, including an A* in AQA A-Level Sociology.

My journey to achieving an A* wasn't straightforward. Just five months before my final exams, I received a D in my Year 13 Sociology mock. Determined to improve, I completely transformed my revision approach, strengthened my understanding of sociological theories and focused on developing my exam technique.

Through hard work and determination, I went on to achieve an A* in my final Sociology exams.

Having experienced this improvement myself, I understand how challenging A-Level Sociology can feel, and I'm passionate about sharing the knowledge, revision strategies and exam techniques that helped me succeed.

As someone who has recently completed the AQA specification, I can offer students a fresh perspective on the course and its requirements.

I'm friendly, patient and approachable, and my aim is to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, developing their confidence and working towards their individual goals.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed to help AQA A-Level Sociology students build confidence, strengthen their subject knowledge and develop the exam skills needed to achieve their potential.

I offer personalised 60-minute, one-to-one online lessons via Google Meet for Year 12 and 13 students across the UK.

Each lesson is tailored to the student's individual needs, whether that's understanding sociological theories, learning key sociologists, improving essay structure or preparing for exams.

My teaching approach combines clear explanations, interactive discussions, practice questions and guidance on applying knowledge effectively. I place particular emphasis on exam technique, including understanding the AO1, AO2 and AO3 assessment objectives.

Having achieved an A* in Sociology myself, after improving from a D in my Year 13 mocks, I understand the challenges students can face and the importance of finding revision methods which work for them.

My aim is to create a friendly, supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing their confidence.

I also offer an optional free 15-minute introductory call to discuss each student's goals before beginning lessons.
