About Matt
I am a 3rd year Applied Mathematics student at the University of California, Irvine and I have an interest in sports analysis, big data engineering, and theory.
My hobbies include cooking, teaching, skateboarding, playing tennis and basketball, and being consistent in fitness.
I am currently conducting research under the wings of renowned professor Patrick Guidotti (Ph.D, Zurich University, 1996).
I currently work in IT for the University of California, Irvine.
Fun Fact: I was born in Fresno, CA, but I have no sports teams I root for in CA except for the Dodgers (New Orleans Saints, Toronto Raptors)

Teaching math from K-12 to higher education has been a passion for me because I love to teach it in ways where people can actually relate to real-world situations. Essentially, I want to show students that math can be understood in an exciting way while also explaining the importance of math in everyday life. Since high school to now, I have been acknowledged and recommended by various parents whose children have learning disabilities spark their interest in the fundamentals of math to advanced theory because of the way I explain certain concepts to them.
In order to do this, I like to have a personal relationship with my students to see what they like outside of mathematics, so I can analyze how to efficiently teach math to them (e.g., how they look at problems, interests I can incorporate into learning sessions, etc.)
For K-12, I am comfortable teaching SAT math (pre-algebra, algebra, etc.) as well as more advanced math up to AP Calculus AB.
For higher education, multivariable calculus as well as linear algebra are also okay with me to teach.
