About Danthen

I have always held an interest in mathematics, and am passionate about making math interesting to others.

I have 6 years of college level mathematics under my belt along with 10 years of k-12 instructional experience. I am confident that I can make sense out of any pre-college mathematical topic for a student in need of assistance. For things like Calculus and College-level statistics I will need time to prepare the session.

I am passionate about students gaining confidence to KNOW they've got the right answer instead of always questioning if they are doing it right. That will be the goal of every session a student has with me, but I will set the pace of the tutoring session based on the student's current needs.

About the lesson

My lessons are for any student struggling to catch up, trying to keep pace with their class, or striving to get ahead! I offer homework help, test prep, and SAT/ACT/GED practice. I use a proven method of direct teaching and Socratic questioning to help build knowledge and confidence in mathematics. I won't just give out answers, as I want my students to learn the methods and tools they need to thrive in mathematics!

A typical lesson plan will include practicing whatever topic the student needs help with, or reviewing homework to make sure the student is ready for the next test.

I have extensive experience in the entire k-12 curriculum, so if a student needs some previous knowledge to build upon in order to understand what they are doing now, I can provide that knowledge for them.

My lessons are for any level of skill in grades k-12.

Perfect! Danthen was wonderful with our grandchild, helping with math. Initially, he was going to tutor our grandson but our grandson was not able to make it and without missing a beat, he connected with our granddaughter and was able to help her understand math problems she had been struggling with. We will definitely continue to work with Danthen!
