My teaching approach for Algebra is centered on advanced matrix theory and its applications in data science. I begin with eigenvalues and eigenvectors, including diagonalization and properties. I teach singular value decomposition (SVD), including derivations and applications in dimensionality reduction, data compression, and noise filtering. I cover principal component analysis (PCA) and its applications in machine learning. I also cover matrix norms, condition numbers, and applications in solving ill-conditioned systems. I use real-world examples from image processing, recommendation systems, and statistical learning to show practical applications. I provide detailed notes, proofs, and problem sets. I assign homework that includes both theoretical derivations and computational implementations. I conduct weekly tests and provide feedback. I maintain a progress log and offer additional support for challenging topics. My goal is to prepare you for careers in data science and machine learning.
