About Harshini

I’m a BSc Management and Accounting student with top GCSE grades in English Language (9/A**) and Literature (8/A*). My approach reflects the patience and clarity with I wish I'd been taught; I understand what makes English click — from tricky grammar to reading comprehension — and how to make learning engaging for younger learners!

I have experience leading my school’s Glee Club section, teaching harmonies and routines to younger students. This taught me how to explain concepts clearly, motivate children, and make learning FUN— skills I bring into every lesson. My main intention is to make learning accessible for everyone, to make it click as well as stick.

About the lesson

Before starting, I conduct a brief assessment to gauge your child’s English literacy skills—covering areas like phonics, grammar, and comprehension. Based on this, I design personalised lessons that address their unique needs, utilising past papers and focused exercises to prepare them for KS1/KS2 assessments, SATs, and 11+ examinations.

Strong literacy skills are crucial for academic success and everyday communication. With top GCSE grades of 9 (A**) in English Language and 8 (A*) in English Literature at GCSE, and consistently excelling in English throughout primary school, I have a clear understanding of what examiners look for and how to build strong foundations early on. Lessons are designed to be interactive and engaging. Students are encouraged to complete a weekly reading quota from an approved book of their choice, while building confidence in reading, writing, grammar, and comprehension.

KS1 (Years 1–2): £13/hr
KS2 (Years 3–4): £15/hr
KS2 (Years 5–6): £17/hr

My goal is to help children not only succeed academically, but also enjoy English through vocabulary, reading fluency, and exam-style practice — making their learning both effective and long-lasting.
