About Samuel
I'm an aerospace engineer in Los Angeles, with a solid foundation in physics. I have a bachelor's degree in Physics and spent a memorable summer working at CERN on the Large Hadron Collider! These experiences deepened my understanding of the physical world at its most fundamental level.
Following undergrad, I spent some time living on a kibbutz in Israel, exploring ancient lands and when I got back to the States, I got a master's in space engineering from the University of Michigan, where I not only honed my technical skills but also adapted to the brisk, cold climate.
When I'm not engaged in engineering work, my interests are varied and grounded. I enjoy the tranquility of nature through hiking, the discipline of jiu-jitsu, the creativity of cooking, and the introspection found in reading and leisurely walks. Traveling, especially through Central America, has broadened my horizons, adding Spanish alongside my native Russian. All these aspects – from advanced scientific endeavors to simple daily pleasures – shape who I am.

As a tutor, my approach is anchored in a problem-solving methodology, guiding students through each problem step-by-step. This technique ensures a thorough understanding of the concepts involved. In a typical lesson, I focus on reviewing relevant materials and tackling any homework or lesson assignments. My expertise spans a broad spectrum, covering K-12 and college-level subjects. What distinguishes me as a tutor is my unique blend of creativity and empathy. This combination allows me to adapt my teaching style, exploring various methods to explain a topic until it resonates with the student. My goal is to not only solve problems but also instill a deeper understanding and appreciation of the subject matter in my students.

Samuel is a great tutor!
He has a passion for teaching , he knows how to present difficult topics in simplified and understandable way.
Sam had been tutoring math and physics since his college time- undergrad in New York and graduate student in University of Michigan.
Sam had helped many high school students as well as his coeds to prepare for tests and final exams.
Sam had tutored my daughter in math and physics (not her favorite subjects) while she was in her senior year in college , she did very well on her finals and what is most important she fell in love with physics!!See more recommendations
