About Anna
I’ve loved yoga since I first started practising in ’94. I have taught yoga for 10 years, and attained the highest teaching qualification EYT-500hr in 2018. Yoga is in my roots, born in Norway with Indian heritage, my mother introduced me to yoga age 14 and I never looked back. I am fortunate to live in Devon with my children and 2 dogs. As well as a yoga teacher, I work with charities as a consultant and this year have become a trustee. I run a few yoga businesses: - Yoga Coaching for Menopause, - Retreats, Surf & Yoga Retreats for Women in Mid-Life -In person and Online yoga classes

My goal is to empower you to regain balance, energy, focus and explore a lighter side to life. I infuse yoga philosophy with modern anatomy, to enable you to re-connect to all layers of self. I guide you to feel a sense of inner calm and a greater connection to your essence. I specialise in yoga for athletes, as well as more nurturing practices to help women manage hormonal life changes - menstruation, menopause and pelvic health. I believe I’m well suited to guiding non-flexible people (all ages) to make yoga accessible for their body and lifestyle. I teach a range of styles - Vinyasa, hatha, yin, Restorative, Prenatal, Postnatal, Nidra & Meditation. I’ve been fortunate to have had some leading teachers in the field, including Jason Crandall, and Uma Dinsmore Tuli. Specialisms Anna training includes: - Yoga for Athletes - ‘Creating Space & Freedom - Hips & Legs’, ‘Building Integrity & Stability - Spine & Core’, & ‘Cultivating Strength & Movement - Shoulders, Neck & Upper Back’ - ‘Well Woman Yoga’ - a movement guiding us to use yoga to embrace women's health and vital energy throughout their lives.

I'm continuously impressed with how many tools Anna has for supporting women's health through yoga. Apart from her knowledge about physiology and hormones she also has a great understanding of all the processes we go through in our women's lives, and their spiritual emotional and physical implications. I feel much freedom, power and possibility after our sessions.
Anna is an inspirational, warm, kind, caring, passionate yoga teacher- a great communicator who explains things really well and is easy to connect with. Her classes are always varied and enjoyable and she strikes the right balance, encouraging those less experienced with those seeking a more challenging practice. She has a breadth of experience and knowledge, with a deep understanding of anatomy and yoga in all its forms but I particularly love her deep commitment to women’s issues, from prenatal to menopause, and up to the moment concerns. She can be equally soothing with nourishing Yin classes and sumptuous Yoga Nidri sessions. Her retreats are also exceptional, bringing together small groups of friendly welcoming yogis in wonderful settings.
As a 40+ guy trying to maintain my health and fitness I was struggling with injuries as a result of continuing to play fairly intense 5 a-side football.
Anna's extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology made me feel extremely confident in her recommendations and I was able to see a marked improvement in my resilience, flexibility and strength in a short space of time. I also noticed better general improvement including mental health and mood etc. I found the classes a genuine challenge, which honestly surprised me, as I was already pretty fit when I joined. Anna I'd also great fun to be taught by and, whilst being a consumate professional, doesn't take herself or the yoga scene too seriously. I can't recommend her classes enough.I have attended Annas yoga sessions over the years; at her home and on her weekend retreats.
I love Annas calm guiding voice that takes me through poses, and gentle repositioning to help my stretches go further. Her energy, practice and disposition makes for an enlightening experience and helps me to take my mind off work.
As someone who is looking to improve with yoga- Anna’s gentle patience and kindness is much appreciated!
