About Saleha

I’m Saleha, an actuarial science graduate currently working as a consultant in the finance and auditing industry in South Africa.
I’ve always been someone who loves both numbers and words — which is probably why I ended up in a career that demands both. Math was my strongest subject at school and became the foundation of everything I’ve done professionally, from my degree right through to my day-to-day work. But I also know that raw intelligence isn’t what makes a good tutor — patience, clear explanation, and genuinely caring whether a student gets it does.
Outside of work I’m a mom to a busy toddler, which has honestly made me a better communicator — when you spend your days explaining the world to a two-year-old, you get very good at breaking complex things down simply!

I started tutoring because I remember what it felt like to sit in a math class and feel lost, and I also remember the moment it finally clicked — and how much that changed my confidence. I want that for every student I work with.

My lessons are built around one goal — genuine understanding, not just passing the exam.

Having studied actuarial science and worked in professional consulting, I use mathematics daily at a high level. That means I don’t just teach the matric syllabus — I teach you how to think about problems, which is what separates students who scrape through from those who get distinctions.

Every student I work with gets a personalised approach. We start by identifying exactly where the gaps are, then build from the foundations up. No rushed explanations, no one-size-fits-all worksheets.

For English, my professional background means I bring a real-world perspective to writing and communication — I’ll show you how to structure arguments clearly and express ideas with confidence, skills that go far beyond matric.

Sessions are relaxed but focused. I explain things multiple ways until it clicks, and I’m always happy to revisit concepts. You’ll never feel judged for not understanding something — that’s exactly why we’re here.
