About Francesco
My educational philosophy is strongly student-centred. It aims at encouraging our students to personally commit to learning. I emphasise the essentiality to establish the foundational principles of the disciplines we offers. I promote critical skills for analysing and questioning them and I foster the synthesis of new concepts by connecting them to already existing reasoning mechanisms and structures. Then, understanding the functioning of the building blocks becomes competence employable to build knowledge in unseen contexts.

My teaching portfolio shows that I am a consolidated teacher and researcher. My prime interest is in the mathematics needed to systematically advance design and control of natural and engineering systems. In my courses, I focus on foundational methodologies and their application to solve practical problems. I evenly share my passion between theoretical and pragmatic methods.
My approach focuses at instilling students with a system-level understanding of natural and engineering systems. I want to ingrain a workflow in which computational and inferential thinking are no longer a posteriori tasks, but rather tools that activate knowledge discovery and design of new technology.
My objective is to help learners to develop the professional and academic skills which are needed to be life-long learners.
