About Buse
I completed my undergraduate degree in Hacettepe American Culture and Literature department as an honor student in 2020 and started my master's degree in Hacettepe Cultural Studies and Media department in the same year. In 2018, I lived in Warsaw for six months with the Erasmus+ program, visited 10 countries and 11 cities within the exchange program, and later with individual plans. Before the pandemic, I was working intensively on Argentine tango, and under the pandemic conditions, I focused on my master's and creative writing.
The interdisciplinary nature of my undergraduate study and diverse cultures I encountered during my trips helped me to be multi-faceted on arts ve social sciences (mainly sociology, philosophy, and psychology), and I decided to pursue my master's degree in Cultural Studies to further improve myself in this attitude that helped me evaluate the world holistically. The areas I focus on in my thesis are postmodern theory, avant-garde art, and late capitalism culture through theater. (My academic interests: critical theory, postcolonial theory, literary theory, art theory, reception studies, social media and mime studies, semiotics, critical linguistics).
Why I see myself competent in academic counseling for social sciences is highly related to my graduate study. The School of Cultural Studies, which is influenced by the Critical Theory and emerged in the 1960s, caused a paradigm shift in the social sciences, and people who are within this discipline must know at least the basics of every humanities and social sciences; because the cultural studies school has to be interdisciplinary in order not to become unipolar in its research.

The purpose of the online courses with personalized programs is to help people who have difficulties in adapting to academic life. Since I find the didactic and dictating style extremely useless for the learning process, the "lectures" work as a mutual sharing and joint learning process, which is the nature of the social sciences. Having a positivist attitude in humanities only leads to rote learning and missing the essence of the subject, precisely for this reason, I aim to share what I know with my students in dialogue and improve myself together with them. Topics I help my students with (in English and Turkish):
-Private lessons (if there is a specific course that is difficult, private lessons that go in parallel with the university in line with the curriculum of this course)
-Academic support for homework and exams (without plagiarism) )
-Reference system (informing and corrections in accordance with the preferred reference style for assignments and articles; eg APA, MLA, Chicago…)
-Academic scheduling (study routine for people who have difficulty in fulfilling their responsibilities due to busy schedules, and to help them with deadlines and midterms/finals)
-Transcript and graduation status checks (ECTS calculation and, if necessary, studies to speed up the graduation of the student)
I have started this job to help my friends in my undergraduate life, since 2019 I have been working professionally. I had the opportunity to work with people from different disciplines, from English Language and Literature to the Department of Interior Architecture, and seeing that I helped people in these studies, which is very enjoyable for me in terms of improving myself, also enables me to improve my skills for my career goal as an academic.

İngilizcem iyi olmadığı için çekinerek, sıkılarak ders almaya karar versem de Buse hocam her zaman destek olarak ilerlememi sağladı. Alanında başarılı ve samimi bir hoca olduğu için derslerimiz çok güzel, verimli, eğlenceli geçti.
Buse Hoca alanında çok tecrübeli ve yetkindir, kişisel ihtiyaçları ve eksikleri tespit edip o yönde ders verir. İngilizce düzeyinize göre ders anlatır, düzenli ders ve öğrenci takibi yapar.
Edebiyata olan ilgimiz sebebiyle bir yazarlık atölyesinde tanıştığım Buse, yetkinlikleri yalnızca edebiyatla da sınırlı olmayan bir birikime sahip. İngilizceye hem günlük konuşma dilinde, hem akademik yazı üslubunda hem de edebi açıdan son derece hakim biri olarak, kendisi bu dili öğrenmede kesinlikle çok değerli bir kılavuzdur ve şahsi kanaatimce ülkemizde bu noktada az bulunabilecek öğretmenlerden biridir. Alanındaki yetkinliği ile beraber, öğrenmede zorluk yaşadığınız her noktada çözüm odaklı, teşvik edici ve kolaylaştırıcı yaklaşımıyla İngilizceyi size sevdirir. İngilizcede yaşadığım zorluklar noktasında hala tavsiyelerini aldığım biri olarak, birikimlerinin ihtiyaç duyan herkes için son derece faydalı olacağı kanaatindeyim.
Kuşak farkı olan hocaların sıkıcı fabrikasyon derslerinden bıkan birisi olarak ilaç gibi geldi. Pek memnunum kendisinden :D
