About Aswin
I'm a 4th year medical student at Imperial College London with a long-standing passion for education and mentoring. Throughout my own academic journey—from school exams to medical school—I’ve benefited from great teachers, and I now enjoy giving that support back to others. Tutoring allows me to share what I’ve learned, break down complex topics into simpler steps, and help students grow in both confidence and ability. Over the past few years, I’ve worked with students across different levels—supporting GCSE revision, preparing applicants for the UCAT and medical interviews, and coaching fellow students through OSCEs. I find it incredibly rewarding to see my students gain clarity, achieve their goals, and feel more confident in themselves. Teaching is more than just explaining content—it's about encouraging, guiding, and adapting to each learner's needs, and that’s what I aim to bring to every session.

My approach is structured, supportive, and student-centred. I tailor each lesson to the individual’s goals—whether that’s mastering core concepts, improving exam technique, or building confidence. I begin by identifying strengths and areas for improvement, then guide students through targeted practice, clear explanations, and active engagement (e.g. worked examples, scenario-based questions for interviews or OSCEs). I encourage questions throughout to ensure deep understanding rather than memorisation. Lessons typically run for 60 minutes, but I’m flexible depending on the student’s needs and focus. I am a 4th year medical student at Imperial College London with several years of tutoring experience, including GCSE Maths and Biology, UCAT preparation, mock interviews, and OSCE coaching. I’ve also helped deliver student-led UCAT crash courses, giving me insight into effective group and 1:1 teaching strategies. I achieved 9 A*s/9s and 2 As at GCSE, and A*A*A at A-Level in Biology, Chemistry, and Maths, reflecting a strong academic foundation in the core sciences. I tutor GCSE students (ages 13–16) as well as aspiring and current medical students, supporting everything from school exams to medical applications and clinical assessments.

I had OSCE tutoring with Aswin and would highly recommend him! The sessions were always focused but still really engaging and enjoyable. I especially liked how he didn’t just cover things I already felt confident with — instead, he made sure to target my weaker areas, which made a huge difference and helped me pick up a lot of extra marks. He was also always punctual and really organised, with great communication over WhatsApp, so it was easy to arrange lessons and keep everything efficient.
Aswin is an exceptional tutor! His OSCE preparation was incredibly effective, with clear explanations and patient guidance that significantly boosted my confidence. I highly recommend him; his analytical skills and ability to simplify complex topics would also make him an amazing math tutor.
