About Vaanujan
Hi! I’m a third-year Medical student at Imperial College London, offering tutoring in Biology, Chemistry and Maths at GCSE and A-Level, as well as Physics at GCSE level. I achieved Grade 9s in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Physics at GCSE, followed by A-A* grades in Biology, Chemistry and Maths at A-Level. Alongside my studies, I have over two years of tutoring experience, working with students of different ages and abilities.
I was fortunate to have tutors who made a real difference to my own learning, particularly when I was preparing for my GCSEs and A-Levels. Having someone who could explain difficult concepts in a different way, answer questions I was unsure about, and give me confidence made a significant difference to my experience. Hence why I was able to achieve top grades. I would therefore like to give back by providing that same support to other students.
I also see tutoring as an opportunity to develop skills that will be valuable throughout my future career in medicine. Being able to communicate complex ideas clearly, adapt my explanations to different people, and recognise when someone is struggling are all important skills for a doctor. I enjoy working with people and explaining concepts, so I see tutoring as both a rewarding way to help students and a valuable opportunity to continue developing these skills.

I understand that everyone learns differently, so I tailor my lessons to each student rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach. Whether you’re struggling with a particular topic, looking to build your confidence, aiming for top grades, or simply want to stay ahead of your class, I can adapt lessons to suit your goals.
My approach focuses on understanding rather than memorisation. I aim to break down difficult concepts into simple, manageable steps and then use questions and exam-style practice to make sure the knowledge can actually be applied. I’m also happy to focus on exam technique, problem-solving and revision strategies where these would be most helpful.
Having completed my own GCSEs and A-Levels and now studying Medicine at Imperial, I have a strong understanding of what is expected at each stage and the techniques that can help students make significant improvements.
I’m happy to work with students of any age and ability, from those who need a little extra support to those aiming for the very highest grades. Most importantly, I want my students to leave each lesson feeling that they understand the material better and are more confident tackling it independently.
If you're looking for a friendly, patient and academically experienced tutor, I’d be very happy to help!

I would definitely recommend him as an A-Level Maths tutor. He helped me throughout my A-Levels and made a huge difference to both my understanding of the subject and my confidence going into exams.
He was particularly good at explaining difficult topics in a way that actually made sense, and we spent a lot of time working through challenging exam questions rather than just going over the theory. He also helped me identify the areas I was losing marks in and improve my exam technique.
With his support, I was able to achieve one of the top grades in A-Level Maths, which played a big part in helping me meet the requirements for my university offer. I’m now studying at a top university, and I genuinely don’t think I would have been as confident going into my exams without his help.
He is knowledgeable, patient and very easy to work with, and I would highly recommend him to anyone aiming for a top grade in A-Level Maths.
I had a really good experience with Vaanu as a tutor! He was very friendly and easy to talk to, and I always felt comfortable asking questions when I didn’t understand something. He was particularly good at breaking down difficult topics and explaining them in a much simpler way.
I originally had a target grade of 7 in GCSE Maths, but with his help I was able to achieve a 9 in my final exam. He helped me become much more confident with exam-style questions and showed me how to approach problems I would previously have struggled with. He was also very patient and would take the time to explain where I was going wrong rather than simply giving me the answer.
I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for extra help with GCSE Maths or other subjects. He clearly knows his subjects well, but more importantly, he knows how to explain them in a way that actually makes sense.
