About Ellie
My lessons focus on developing a revision plan which suits your life, I will review which topics you find challenging and review these concepts in detail. We can revise any concepts, definitions, processes, or diagrams that you need help understanding. I like to use visual learning to explain complex science subjects, in university my research focused on optimizing science education for different science learning profiles. I use these learning techniques in my lessons as this research was awarded in university.
We will focus on important exam topics that are most common on the papers, students who are striving for higher marks will also be advised on other topics that need attention.
Along with the material, you will receive advice on how examiners grade biology papers, and how to approach the exams.
I also recognize students have a life outside of study. I have competed in high-performance sport whilst balancing academic commitments. My study techniques reflect a busy academic and sporting life and how to fit quality study time into a busy life.

I am a Biomedical Science graduate from the University of Galway. I have previously taught 1st to 6th year students in science and math subjects. I focus on optimizing their studying methods by teaching students about SMART study goals, active recall, spaced repetition and the Feynman technique. I studied science communication in the final year of my degree where I studied how to optimize science learning for different learning profiles, I use this research in my lessons. Lesson length is typically one hour, depending on how many subjects are included.
