About Valerie

I am a bit of a nomad and there are now quite a few places I would call home. My family is international and all of us are trilingual. I have a vast range of interest and I really like learning. This is the reason why I started investigating into psychology and became also a qualified counsellor. I would love to continue investigating that field.
I think it is important to keep learning. This also makes us better at supporting our students.

About the lesson

My lessons provide an accurate model of the foreign language for pupils to support pupils’ understanding. There is a balance of skills, a variety of activities offering the opportunity to reflect and query in order to understand the patterns. I aim at enabling the learning and my students are actively making sense out of the lesson content.
As a teacher or tutor, my intention is to be as authentic as possible because this is the only way we can foster real connections. Learning and teaching are not unilateral processes. Students need to feel respected, valued and heard. I am a good active listener and I also promote an atmosphere of collaboration, reflection and trust… with a pinch of humour!
