About Juan Carlos
I got my Advanced Certificate in English in 2015 and I have been teaching English (ages from 9 to 45) as a private tutor for almost five years; As most of my students have grown and flourished especially in terms of understanding grammar, reading, listening and pronounciation (areas that seem to be key for someone to start creating sentences and dare to speak to others) I definitely think that I am ready to take the next step and start teaching my mother tongue. I also like music (I play in a band), movies, food, art and sports!

Hi there! I'm Juan Carlos, I'm 25 and I would love to help people improve their Spanish. For me, the beginning is the most exciting and key part of the learning process, and that's why one of my main goals would be helping new learners understand the basics of my mother tongue: basic pronounciation rules, verbal tenses, pronouns, word order and useful sentences among others. The first thing we need to understand is how the fundamentals of a language work so we can take a solid step to the next level.
What about the structure of the lessons? First of all, we need to understand the theory if we want to be able to create our own structures and examples later, usually having the support of videos and written info. Games are a viable option too, especially those which make you think logically about what you are learning.
Why did I use the word "create"? Well, in my opinion, the critical moment comes with the explanation of new content, but as soon as that content is well assimilated, it's time to improvise, to try things, to speak. That's why the second part of every lessons would be for us to venture and explore what we've learnt.
