About Victoria
Located by Bristol, I am a graduate from Trinity Laban Conservatoire with a First Class Honours degree. During my BMus performance course, I specialised in flute playing and music teaching.
I can teach both online and in person depending on your preferences. I am a friendly, hardworking and creative individual with a passion for all things music. I enjoy all genres and can play and teach anything from contemporary to Baroque and also regularly play other instruments in the flute (e.g. alto flute specialism, bass flute and piccolo) and woodwind family.
I began my musical journal at the age of 8 studying both flute and piano. By age 15 I had gained a place in Bristol Pre-Conservatoire and a seat in the Bristol School's Philharmonia Orchestra, where I progressed to principal flute within a year. At age 16 I got awarded the prestigious title of Bristol City Wait, a position as the official minstrel for the Mayor of Bristol for the duration of a year during which I played in the Colston Hall, St George's and the Lord Mayor's Chapel. During my studies at Trinity Laban, I have learnt under Susan Milan, Fiona Kelly, Eliza Marshall and Christopher Green. Over the years, I have played as principal flute in the Cinematic Syncopations Orchestra, as well as performed with Orchestra of the Swan, Electric Earth Orchestra and the Lambeth Orchestra.
Alongside my playing and instrumental teaching, I am also passionate about community music. I have previously helped run the MusicOnWheels bus, Animate Online and I have even created my own courses as Notate Create Innovate. I also do school workshops and first-exposure-to-flute courses and concerts. If you're interested in fun lessons with an enthusiastic teacher then feel free to contact me and we can discuss how to begin your musical journey!
I currently hold an Enhanced DBS.

I am an encouraging and enthusiastic person and love to see the progress that students make each week. I will help my students set achievable goals and devise plans on how to get them there in creative and enjoyable ways, often using lots of musical games. Using their strengths I will tailor the lessons to the individual's needs and teach in the style that best suits them, using games or working towards a grade 5 theory exam to support instrumental learning!
I believe theory is an integral part to music learning and should be worked into every lesson. If you want to get started, delve a little deeper or polish up, I will be able to help you.
Lessons start from 30 minutes long and can be increased to suit your musical goals and needs. I have experience teaching from aged 4 up to retirement and teach any level from beginner to grade 5 and beyond. I currently have a 100% pass rate for theory exams and have had very good feedback from students.
I have been part of the Lewisham Music team and taught across 4 different primary schools in the Lewisham borough, teaching a combination of whole class recorder, small group flute and small group clarinet/saxophone as well as private woodwind tuition. I have also taught and run a number of courses at Blackheath Conservatoire including Roundabout, Play! Flute, Flute Choir and Fantastic Flutes. Further to this, I have taught private music and theory lessons with The Conservatoire up to ARSM diploma level and beyond.
Now, I am starting my private music studio in Bristol and joining West of England Music and Arts in teaching in 4 local schools.

I’ve had the joy of working alongside Victoria for over eight years, and in that time I’ve seen her grow into the most inspiring and dedicated flute teacher. She has such a warm and bubbly personality, and that really shines through in her teaching. She always tailors her approach to suit each student’s individual needs and learning style, whether it's for leading a workshop or teaching one-to-one. Her students clearly feel supported and motivated — she creates such a positive, encouraging atmosphere that makes learning the flute genuinely fun. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone seeking a dedicated, skilled, and genuinely inspiring flute tutor.
A superbly talented performer in her own right, Victoria brings all her knowledge and skills together to inspire and encourage all her students. From the very youngest child to pensioners, she engages with each student to motivate and enhance their love of music, adapting her teaching style to bring out the best from each student.
