About Emily
My greatest teaching experience was teaching English to Thai secondary school children for 12 months, but classes of 40-50 are not quite effective as one-on-ones! I gained a lot from this experience as regards teaching and teaching styles, and understanding people and the way they are most likely to grasp it -- vital when you and your students don't even speak the same language.
Before this, I had taught a couple of beginner flute lessons and done some GCSE Music tutoring.
Now having completed two years of my Music course at City, University of London, I am well placed to up my level of teaching and really pass on things I have learned and ways of considering topics. My interests in Music have expanded exponentially since being at my University, which offers an extremely wide range of subjects and assessment types. This year alone the spread of materials I have studied range from Highland Bagpipe music, through Classical Western Analysis, Electroacoustic and Film composition all the way to playing the wide collection of South American Music in ensemble.
