About Emma

Hey! My name is Emma and I'm a student in University studying Engineering. I've taught maths for over 5 years, and have covered every aspect of the leaving and junior cert courses. Whether you are looking for a bit of help on a certain topic that you find difficult, prep for a big test coming up or regular weekly grinds, I can help! I use an electronic whiteboard so you can see how I do all of my examples as I do them. Then afterwards I send the whiteboard to you, so you can look over what we've covered whenever you like! As I'm a student myself I understand how daunting it can be to ask questions in class, so that's why my classes are just like asking another classmate for help. I love when students ask questions and as always there are never ever any stupid questions!

About the lesson

Hello! My name is Emma and I have been teaching maths for over 5 years. I received a H1 in Maths, Applied Maths and Physics in my leaving cert and am confident in teaching every aspect of both the leaving cert and junior cycle maths courses. My lessons typically last an hour. I use a graphics tablet to do examples live in front of the students (no boring powerpoints!), allowing for questions and easy clarification. I send the complete whiteboard to the student after the class has finished so the students can look back over what we've covered whenever they like! I always keep my lessons light and friendly, like one student getting help from another. This peer-to-peer dynamic helps students feel much more comfortable asking questions. And as always there are no stupid questions! There is no requirement to book a certain number of lessons in a row, I do them on a need-to basis. Many of my current students only require a grind every few weeks when they are stuck on certain topics or would like a bit of revision.
