About Timmy
Hiya, I'm Timmy!
I’m from Shenzhen, China, and I currently teach Mandarin in Western Australia. I began teaching Chinese part-time five years ago while studying Korean at university, and I’ve loved helping language learners ever since.
I completed a master’s degree in psychology in the UK( Nottingham) and later lived in Manchester for another year. While living abroad, I traveled around Europe and built friendships with people from many different cultural backgrounds. These experiences made me more open-minded, adaptable, and comfortable connecting with students from all over the world.
This is my first year living in Australia, where I continue teaching Mandarin and gaining even more experience working with learners from different cultural backgrounds.
I’m naturally curious and always looking for new challenges. I enjoy bouldering, musicals, animals, and plants. Red pandas are my favorite animals—and I also happen to have eight cats!
There are still so many places I hope to explore. I’m curious about different landscapes and cultures, but most of all, I’m curious about you—your story, your goals, and how learning Chinese can connect us.
