About Phyllis
Teaching is as easy as breathing for me. I enjoy getting to know my student's interests, goals, and learning styles. 21+ years of teaching P-K to HS seniors, in multiple subjects. taught me that students learn by building on what they already know. When students struggle, it is a signal they need to fill in the gap that they forgot or were never taught. I tell every student to tell me if the way I'm teaching is helping them learn, if not, I change my way of coaching the subject.
My main goal is for students to have fun while they learn because studies show we learn faster and retain substantially more when we have fun learning.

My lessons are interactive and include student's interests and learning styles. A typical plan begins with determining what the student knows about the subject followed by interactive review and practice. I incorporate humor and fun in every lesson because you remember what you learn when you are laughing and having fun.
