About Kelsey
Completing an MA Translation Studies from Kent State University provided the technical foundation for my 11 years of teaching. Most people assume fluency is enough to teach, but structural understanding matters far more for bilingual learners. I work primarily with high schoolers who navigate between two cultures daily.
Teaching verb conjugation and complex accent nuances feels natural because I live in both languages. My own journey as a native Spanish speaker informs how I explain these concepts to others. Writing is my favorite part of the day.

Struggling to distinguish between Latin American and Castilian variants happens during almost every first meeting. Hearing a student misplace an intonation during a dialogue practice is the exact moment we begin our actual work.
I use role play to build confidence before we move into exam preparation for the DELE. Reading comprehension becomes much simpler once we strip away the fear of making mistakes.
