About Mallory

Holding a Doctor of Musical Arts in Violin from the University of Michigan School of Music provides the foundation for my coaching practice. I am a specialist at untangling the singular technical block preventing progress. My approach is adaptive because no 2 students receive the same course.

I arrived at this instrument the long way round after a different career path. Many of my students are also career changers. I help them navigate posture and hold, grade exam prep, sight reading, rhythm, classical repertoire, music theory, and double stops. It is joyful to help you find your adorable voice.

About the lesson

Starting our time together involves identifying exactly what is currently hindering your musical fluidity. This initial assessment allows me to pinpoint adjustments that yield immediate, tangible results.

I provide free bowing and posture reference notes after each lesson to keep you on track. My lessons draw on the rigors of my DMA training to build a strong, sustainable technique.

We will dismantle complex double stops and rhythm patterns into manageable components. Whether you are prepping for state finals or improving your sight reading, expect a gentle, articulate process. I look forward to hearing you play.
