About Tomiwa

Year 12 A - Level student currently studying Maths, Economics and Geography and looking to study Politics, Philosophy and Economics at university. I enjoy reading books surrounding political and economic current affairs and on the topic of global inequality; The Economist, Politics Weekly Guardian, Banker to the Poor, Black and British etc. I do passionately engage in poetry, having written multiple poems, with a poem published on my local city website. Additionally, my role as my city's Youth MP Deputy, ensures I can manage high levels of responsibility, community effectively and express my ideas in a coherent and respectful manner. I am a self - taught drummer, having performed in drum events, churches and competitions. My belief in hard work and personal perseverance led me to perform a drum solo at 14 yrs old, having only ever received a few months of casual teaching. My responsibility in my school as a House Vice-Captain and an academic mentor, has allowed me to support younger students with a successful pathway through academia. I have a few awards from my maths challenges that I completed in the last few years, hence, my problem solving skills will equip me for many Maths problems. Likewise, my essay writing on topics surrounding social inequality, Racism and politics, has provided me with enhanced critical reasoning skills.

About the lesson

Experience: As a mentor for the academic institution; EasyA, my responsibility is to provide students with the academic support necessary, on a weekly basis. This role requires patience and commitment, as I have to equip the students with confidence within the scholastic sector, which is extremely vital in order to prepare them for the future. My lesson structure: I believe the most important part of education is to enjoy what you learn. Hence, with my stellar performance of all Grade 9s(A**) at GCSE level; I have built up the experience on the best ways to learn and understand basic concepts. Secondly, regardless of your subject choice, be it mathematics or religious studies, I have learnt that reading as a hobby, is always essential to broaden your academic and societal horizon. Extra info: I provide Mathematics tutoring up to GCSE level. Both live and homework help lessons. Live lessons on Google Duo video call.
