About Julia
Formerly known as Ms. S, I am a ELA and History teacher from New York City. I am a proud New Yorker who attended Hunter College High School and then Yale University, graduating with a BA focusing on African-American Literature.
Complementing my experience as a Middle School and High School teacher in NYC public schools, I am also an enthusiastic, driven tutor who believes deeply in the power of perseverance and preparation. For the past 8 years, I have worked privately with students with a diverse array of interests and needs -- I am committed to helping each student explore and expand their capacities for problem-solving and storytelling.
