About Peter
I am a Mechanical Technician by Qualiication, holding a T4 Higher National Dploma in Mechanical Engineering from my local Technikon. After spending a few years 'contracting' to assorted clients; I found myself in the Valve business for the last +- 30 years.
Working as a Sales Engineer for a Valve Automation Company; I have been exposed to a wide range of Industries / Companies across the greater KZN, but have also been directly involved in a number of large projects (where I have supplied Valves and ancillary equipment) across Africa and further afield. Most of these projects have been managed by local South Afican Consulting Engineers.
From Chemical, Petroleum, Food, Materials Handling and so on.
I am a hands-on type person and also like to interact with people directly.

About the lesson

A Basic Introductory Course would cover the origins, general types and applications / uses of different Valves with some basic Design and Specifications.
An Intermediate Course would deal in more depth with the Main Valve Types including Design. Testing, Specifications, International Standards as well as Selection, Application, Advantages & Disadvantages of each main type. it would also introduce the student to Sizing/Selection critea etc.
An advanced course would cover types of Valve Automation available plus all common ancillaries - both pneumatic and electric / electro-hydraulic. Quarter-turn and Linear Valves. A look at Sizing Programs etc.
