I believe that students learn when they are engaged in meaningful interactive activities. I would like students to learn with meaningful structured input that can create meaningful structured output.
My role as a teacher is to be the architect in the classroom. The role of the students is to be the information gatherers and the builders of knowledge. For students to learn it is necessary that the correct amount of comprehensible input can be transmitted to the students. Then, students will process the input and elicit a coherent output that will be evaluated by their peers and by the teacher.
I would like my students to learn something new every time they come to class. I want to have ready for them the necessary activities so they can engage with other students in the learning process of a second language. The activities should incorporate real life experiences and they should incorporate activities that will help students excel in the acquisition of the target language.
The reason I want to become a teacher is because it is gratifying to know that I am helping develop the mind of students on their way to become professionals at any field.
