About Jakob
I am from New York City. I am the child of two Immigrants who came from Dublin, Ireland. Growing up, my parents always pushed me to have a quality education as they did not have access to pursue that. I then fell in love with history, as it fascinates me that there is so much to the question of us, who we are as human beings and how we got here. I am also a former division 1 athlete in track and field, I threw the hammer and shot put !
My goal is to make sure I can fulfill any students learning experience and do what ever what ever it takes.

You cannot learn unless something is fun and interesting. Which is why I use technology and created my own personalized lessons that involve higher level and hard hitting questions that will make you rethink your perspectives of history.
A typical lesson involves main concepts of the UDL method (the universal design for learning)... which means I provide you information in various ways. Heres a list of how a class will go.
- Bell ringer ( a fun question to start class, get everyone lose )
- Higher level question & discussion (an open ended question that relates to both you and the area of study for the lesson)
- Lecture, i've created my own slides and Ill chat for a bit about what we are learning with regards to the lesson area
- Brief video, of said study area of lesson
- Activity, something to get your brain working, typically involves you using my notes, the information from the video, and your own research.

- Lesson review and good byes !
