About Nick

Hi! I'm Nick.
I am 23 years old. That's actually a lie, at the time I'm writing this I am still 22. I like to think I'm funny (see evidence above). Below you'll find information about my work experience, it feels braggadocious to share these things, but they help you to make a more informed decision, which is extremely important. In all things, you want to make sure you are well-cared for and well-taught.

If we get the opportunity to work together, I hope we will be able to help you seek for joy, freedom, and understanding. There are no magic tricks and secrets, there are simply these things and hard work.

And love. Lots and lots of love.

My experience:
I'm a professional actor and graduate of Reinhardt University's Musical Theatre Program. Since graduating a semester early in Fall 2021, I have been fortunate enough to find myself with opportunites to do what I love.

My first job was with the Nashville Shakespeare Festival, where we toured three separate, abridged productions of Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, and a Midsummer Night's Dream to schools throughout Tennessee. On an average day, we would take a van to schools, set up our sets, props, costumes, and teach workshops until the end of the day when we performed for our students.

After that, I spent the summer with the Texas Shakespeare Festival, performing in four shows of a five-show season.

I then came home to perform in [title of show] with the Rome Shakespeare Festival, and am soon heading to New York for my next job (which will invovle performing and teaching once again)!

As a singer, I have been fortunate to participate in singing competitions hosted by the National Association Of Teachers Of Singing (NATS). I placed first in my category in two competitions hosted by SERNATS (the Southeastern Region's branch of NATS). These two competitions where preliminary to the virtual screening rounds for the subsequent national competition, which I have attended twice. In 2018, I won third-place in the nation in my category (high school musical theatre men), at the national conference hosted in Las Vegas.

As a writer I have won several awards for my writing throughout the years, and my work has received high compliment from my professors in college.

I teach my students by empowering them to learn.

Using questions and conversation, we establish goals, figure out how you learn best, and develop language you can use to learn and grow with and without me.

Singers: We discuss breathing, relaxation, vowel modification, placement, and planning your way through a song. Our greatest tools are awareness and simplicity.

Actors: We cover many elements of the craft like auditioning, approaching and navigating and using the rehearsal process, the basics of listening and responding, creating characters, interpreting text, and much more. I teach from my experience as an actor and as a student of many teachers.

Shakespeareans: We work through verse and prose texts, discerning how to use scansion, how to understand and interpret what we're reading, and the other various ways we can make Shakespeare's text work for us. Actors, enthuisiasts, or bard haters are welcome all!

Writers: From creative poetry to essays, I have done it all, and I help my students to find what has been most beneficial to me in my work as a writer: clarity of meaning, use of your unique voice, and tackling those big research projects that you may or may not want to do!
