About Ash
Hi! My name is Ash and I have been singing and playing music for over 30 years. Classically trained on violin and choir singing, I then shifted to playing guitar and singing in various rock bands, as well as a solo one-man-band.
I have spent more than half of my adult life teaching a variety of subjects, and am now focusing most on singing and vocal coaching. I have also been practicing yoga for over 5 years, and incorporating various breathwork techniques and body tuning into my own singing practice which has been yielding great results. Also have plenty of experience in public speaking, so can coach speakers as well as singers.
Recently, I’ve had a handful of students, getting great results and am just starting to ramp up the numbers now. I’m happy to provide an introductory first series of lessons at half price, to see if we click and you find the techniques useful, interesting and fun (... no one has failed to yet!)

My methodology starts from the basis of learning to control the breath in a variety of ways — absolutely vital for any singer — before learning to tune into one’s own signature note, based on individual physiology. This gives a starting point for practicing exercises to build the required muscles for pitch and tonal control. We also focus a lot on the auditory system (the other half of your vocal instrument) I tailor lesson plans to your individual skill and experience level, and adapt them along the way based on what works. I’m a very “outside the box” thinker and problem solver, and use a lot of different creative methods for sharing the knowledge and experience.
