I believe in a personalized, student-centered approach to literacy, focusing on each learner’s strengths and growth areas. Using evidence-based strategies like the Wilson Reading System and phonics instruction, I tailor lessons to develop critical reading skills such as decoding, fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary. Creating an engaging and supportive environment encourages confidence and fosters a love of reading, helping students reach their full potential. I want my students to know I believe in them and will not give up on them.
Practice and repetition do not need to be drill and kill; I love to incorporate games.
I have experience working with neurodivergent learners from Kindergarten to 8th grade. My passion is working with students who have or may have Dyslexia. I have had the most success and satisfaction working with my students who never believed they would learn to read.
