About Chuck

As a software engineer, I have be designing, writing and implementing software applications for over 30 years. I currently spend most of my time writing code in Python, PHP, HTML5, CSS, and Javascript, but that is far from all of the programming languages I have worked with over the years. In the past few years I have wrote Android apps using Java and applications using C++. If we go back even farther, I have also wrote a many applications in COBOL, RPG II/III and Visual Basic.

I enjoy helping others learn about software design, whether it's a static HTML/CSS website, or a dynamically database driven website using PHP, Python, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript and Jquery I can teach you how to make it happen.

About the lesson

Over the years I have had the opportunity to teach people from all walks of live, and I have done it with respect.

Whether you are new to the programming world, just want to learn a new language, or having trouble grasping a concept, I can help.

When I am teaching, I like to use real life problems, I am not big on teaching someone how to write a script to pick out all of the negative odd numbers out of a list of a million numbers, I just don't see the need for such a program. To me it's more interesting to write a script that would for instance pick out all of the best selling items in a list, and rank them by units sold for example.
