About Yuyun
Hello, I’m Sylvia, a NESA-accredited teacher and Master of Teaching graduate from Western Sydney University. As a native Mandarin speaker with professional experience in Australian primary school and early childhood settings, I am passionate about helping children develop confidence in Mandarin and Mathematics.
I understand that every child learns differently. I create supportive, engaging and well-structured lessons tailored to each student’s level, interests and learning goals. My teaching approach combines clear explanations, guided practice, interactive activities and regular encouragement, so students can make progress while enjoying the learning process.
I am patient, caring and responsible, and I am committed to maintaining a safe and positive learning environment. Whether your child is beginning Mandarin, improving their communication skills or seeking additional support in K–6 Mathematics, I would be delighted to support their learning journey.

My lessons are engaging, supportive and tailored to each student’s individual learning needs. I use explicit teaching, visual resources, educational games, real-life examples and guided practice to help students understand new concepts and build confidence.
For Mandarin lessons, I focus on practical vocabulary, pronunciation, speaking, listening, reading and basic writing through songs, stories, conversations and interactive activities. For Mathematics, I break concepts into manageable steps and use concrete materials, diagrams and practice questions to strengthen understanding and problem-solving skills.
A typical lesson is 60 minutes. However, I can offer 30- or 45-minute lessons for younger children, depending on their concentration and learning needs.
I am a Master of Teaching graduate from Western Sydney University and a NESA-accredited teacher. My teaching experience includes working with children in early childhood and primary school settings, planning differentiated lessons and supporting students with diverse learning needs.
My lessons are suitable for preschool and primary school children, including Mandarin learners at beginner to intermediate levels and Mathematics students from Kindergarten to Year 6.
