About Dana

I’m Dana, I was born in Ecuador; therfore, my first language is Spanish, I stayed at Ecuador for 10 years before moving countries. I still use Spanish in my daily life, not only with families but also friends; this isn’t only a way for me to practice my skills in Spanish but it also helps me be connected with something of my herritage although being far from it physically. This is why I want to help anyone learn Spanish; wether it’s because they’re family know spanish, or if it’s beucase of a class they want to pass, whatever the reason is, I want to help students have the opportunity to build this connection with different communities throughout language.

About the lesson

My teaching process accommodates with the students necessities, as I would first identify the area in which the students struggles the most and begin to help them develop this area, as long as other areas. The way I teach also changes depending of the ages of the student, if the students in elementary and middle school I would use songs, fun activities, anything that would rise their curiosity in the language and motivate them to learn, if the student is in high school I would teach with things that relate to their interest, for example art, music, poetry, books, etc. Which won’t only help to keep them interested but also to see the learning a language can be enjoyable when relating it to things that you already like or have a passion towards.
