About Yee Lok

Hi, I'm Yee! I'm a History student at the University of Warwick and achieved an A* in A-level Spanish in 2026.

Having recently completed my own A-levels, I understand the challenges of learning Spanish and preparing for exams. I know how rewarding it can be to see your hard work pay off, and I'd love to help other students experience that same feeling of progress and achievement.

I'm passionate about languages and how they help us understand different cultures and perspectives. As someone who speaks English, Cantonese and Mandarin alongside Spanish, I've experienced language learning from different angles and appreciate that everyone learns at their own pace.

I want to teach because I enjoy helping people understand things they initially find difficult and watching their confidence grow. My aim is to make Spanish feel less intimidating by breaking down challenging topics, explaining concepts clearly and helping students develop practical skills they can use both in exams and beyond the classroom.

Whether you're working towards your GCSEs or A-levels, I'm here to support you, answer your questions and help you reach your goals in a friendly and encouraging environment. I look forward to working with you!

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring

My approach focuses on building a strong understanding of Spanish while helping students develop the confidence and exam technique needed to perform at their best.

Having achieved an A* in A-level Spanish in 2026, I understand the demands of the AQA specification and the challenges students face when preparing for examinations. As a recent student myself, I can share effective revision strategies and explain concepts from a student's perspective.

Teaching methodology

I tailor each lesson to the student's level, goals and areas for improvement. I aim to make lessons interactive and practical, combining clear explanations with exercises that help students apply what they have learnt.

Depending on the student's needs, lessons can cover grammar, vocabulary, translation, reading and listening comprehension, essay writing and speaking practice. For examination students, I can also help with past-paper questions, identifying recurring mistakes and developing effective revision techniques.

I believe that making mistakes is an important part of learning a language. My aim is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, practising their Spanish and gradually building their confidence.

Typical lesson structure

Lessons will typically last 60 minutes, although this can be adjusted depending on the student's age, level and requirements.

A typical session might begin with a short review of previous material, followed by focused teaching on a particular topic, guided exercises and practice questions. We can finish by reviewing progress and identifying areas to work on before the next lesson.

Qualifications and experience

I achieved an A* in A-level Spanish in 2026 and am currently studying History at the University of Warwick. Having recently completed the AQA A-level examinations, I have first-hand experience of the syllabus, examination preparation and the skills required to succeed.

Although I am beginning my tutoring journey, I am committed to preparing lessons carefully, adapting my explanations to each student's needs and helping them make measurable progress.

I offer Spanish support for GCSE and A-level students who want to strengthen their language skills, improve their examination technique or develop greater confidence using Spanish.

Whether you need help with a particular topic or want consistent support throughout the academic year, I will work with you to identify your priorities and build a plan suited to your goals.
