About Nadyah
I’ve always known the frustration of having thoughts and ideas I couldn’t fully express. It’s a helpless feeling to know your potential is there, yet feeling limited by vocabulary, grammar, or confidence. In Singapore, where English is our lingua franca and shapes so many academic and professional opportunities, that gap can feel even more overwhelming.
That’s why I want to teach English. I want students to feel empowered to express themselves clearly and confidently, not held back by the fear of “not sounding good enough.”
To me, English is more than just a subject; it’s a tool for connection, self-expression, and opportunity. It's also my favorite subject above all. Such a favorite, that I've pursued a field all about writing (Psychology), have over 300 books in my house, and write novels in my free time. I hope to share with you that same joy of learning!

My personal approach is to focus on the hardest area first. I don't rush to cover everything. I ask each student where they feel most stuck - whether it's essay structure, grammar, or speaking clearly - and we tackle that immediately. For example, if a student freezes up writing introductions, we don't move to body paragraphs until they've written three solid intros together. It could mean rewriting just one paragraph until it works, practicing a speech opening five times in a row, or editing a verbose sentence repeatedly until it's concise. Once that foundation is solid, the rest follows naturally.
This approach works even with limited sessions, and my past poly and secondary school peers have given me great feedback when I tutored them on a volunteer basis, because they saw real and lasting progress.
