About Aubrey
I am a non-traditional BA student studying music and history with a focus on the history of Black American music.
Being a non-traditional (read: older) student gives me a lot of life experience that informs my method of instruction/tutoring. I love to work with my clients to find their learning style and adjust my methods accordingly. Being a writing fellow and tutor on campus has given me quite a bit of experience in doing just that.
I have a passion for all things history, music, research, and writing, and I can't wait to share that with you!

Whether it's reading music, jazz theory and extended chords, or questions about the canon from the Romantic period, I'm here to help. I've had extensive training in aural skills, theory, and music history and I love to share my knowledge.
I'm also a skilled researcher and writer and I can help with program notes, researching the history behind a piece of music and how it connects to the composition choices, and how to narrate that for the layperson.
