About Ayla
I’m a singing tutor with over 6 years of experience and a Licentiate of Music in Voice. I specialise in working with adult beginners, hobbyists, and those returning to singing after a break. My lessons offer a low-pressure, encouraging space where you can feel comfortable exploring your voice without judgement. I focus on breathwork, vocal relaxation, posture, and mindfulness in music to help you develop a healthy, sustainable technique. Together, we work on tone development and expressiveness, making sure your voice feels strong and natural. I teach a variety of styles including Jazz, Folk, Blues, and Contemporary Adult, tailoring each lesson to your musical tastes and goals. For me, singing is more than just technique—it’s a powerful form of self-care, creativity, and confidence-building. I love helping students discover how singing can enrich their lives, no matter where they’re starting from. Whether you want to learn for fun, relaxation, or personal growth, I’m here to support you every step of the way. For both The Church Ensemble Player and The Crossover Artist, mastering multiple genres is key. I focus on helping each singer adapt their vocal techniques to fit classical, pop, and jazz styles with ease. Breath control, pitch accuracy, and expressive musicality shift depending on the genre, and we work on developing flexibility in all these areas. The Church Ensemble Player learns how to blend seamlessly with others while maintaining a strong, clear tone suitable for sacred music. The Crossover Artist practises switching between styles smoothly, exploring the unique phrasing and rhythm each genre demands. We use modern tools like digital audio workstations (DAWs) to record and review performances, metronomes to perfect timing, and pitch training apps to ensure intonation stays sharp. These tools provide immediate feedback and help track progress over time. My method combines traditional vocal exercises with technology driven practice, making learning effective and fun. Each lesson encourages exploration and confidence, helping singers grow their versatility. Whether preparing for a concert or recording, singers gain control, style, and stage presence. Together, we create a personalised plan that keeps evolving with your goals. The result? A well-rounded singer ready for any musical challenge.
