About Corliss
Hello! I am Corliss. I am a 2025 IB graduate from Glenunga International High School and I am currently studying Veterinary Medicine in Adelaide University. I am also a current tutor in Glenunga International High School tutoring various IB subjects. Having recently completed the IB Diploma myself, I understand the challenges students face and the importance of effective study strategies, strong conceptual understanding, and exam preparation.
My credentials include:
- Achieved a converted ATAR of 98.70
- Achieved a 7 in IB Chemistry SL
- Achieved a high 6 in IB Biology SL, including a 7 in Paper 2
- Received unconditional offers for Veterinary Medicine from the University of Queensland, Murdoch University, and Adelaide University
- Achieved the highest possible Casper result (4th quartile)
I offer tutoring for IB Chemistry SL and IB Biology SL, helping students strengthen their understanding of key concepts, develop effective exam techniques, and approach assessments with greater confidence.
As a recent IB graduate, I can provide students with exam techniques and strategies, as well as deeper understanding of difficult concepts to help them succeed.

My teaching approach is student-focused, structured, and centred around conceptual understanding and exam strategies. I believe success in IB Chemistry and Biology comes from building strong conceptual foundations, learning how to apply knowledge, and understanding how marks are awarded. I focus on exam technique, including understanding markscheme expectations, using key terminology effectively, and developing time management strategies. Rather than memorising answers, I help students understand the reasoning behind concepts so they can confidently apply their knowledge to unfamiliar questions.
Every student learns differently, so I tailor lessons to each student's strengths, challenges, learning style, and goals. I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, building confidence, and making consistent progress.
A lesson may look like:
- Identifying areas for improvement and setting clear learning goals
- Breaking complex concepts into simple, manageable steps
- Using diagrams, examples, and guided practice to strengthen understanding
- Working through exam-style questions with detailed feedback Reviewing key takeaways and setting clear next steps for improvement
I also provide Internal Assessment (IA) support, including brainstorming ideas, planning investigations, improving structure, and refining scientific explanations.
