About Carrie
Hello! I am a passionate, dedicated math educator with a Bachelor of Science in Education from Western Carolina University. Over my 17-year teaching career in North Carolina public schools—focusing on 7th grade through Math 2—I have helped hundreds of students build confidence and master critical mathematical concepts. My expertise spans the full continuum of learning, from early elementary foundational math to middle and high school coursework, all the way through SAT and ACT preparation.
I understand how challenging math can feel when concepts don't click right away. That is why I tailor every lesson to meet students where they are, breaking complex ideas into clear, approachable steps. Whether your student needs targeted support in NC Math 1, help boosting classroom grades, or strategy-focused test prep, I provide a supportive, patient, and highly effective environment designed to foster true growth and long-term academic success.

My teaching approach centers on building confidence and deep conceptual understanding rather than just rote memorization. I meet every student where they are and adapt my style to fit their unique learning needs. Using a patient, structured, and interactive method, I break complex mathematical concepts into clear, digestible steps. I emphasize real-world connections and step-by-step problem-solving so students learn why math works, not just how to follow a formula.
