About Vanessa
My teaching methodology explicitly focuses on student-centred learning. I strongly believe that my students are individualistic learners with diverse skills, talents and abilities and through my pedagogical practices, I utilize those unique aspects to make learning meaningful and personal.
My greatest strength as an educator is my ability to inspire and motivate students. With inclusion as the principal tenet of my classroom environment, I actively engage my students’ eager minds. I design creative and stimulating lesson plans which incorporate a variety of manipulatives and cooperative learning activities while accommodating multiple intelligences and adhering to IEPs.

I am an Ontario Certified Teacher with over 7 years of experience teaching students from grades JK-10. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Kinesiology, a Bachelors of Education degree and recently completed my Masters of Education at the University of Toronto in Curriculum Studies and Teacher Development. Most recently, I have completed several Additional Qualifications to add to my province-wide teaching license, those including Primary Grades (Kindergarten-Grade 3), English as a Second Language, Special Education and Dance. I also have my 120 hour TESOL certification as well as my 120 hour TEFL certification.
I understand and acknowledge that times are particularly difficult with the ongoing uncertainty that revolves around COVID-19 within the field of education. Therefore, to solidify your child's learning, I am offering 1 on 1 tutoring to students from JK to Grade 10 that reside in the Toronto vicinity.
